Old Barboursville Road (Rt. 738)

The Old Barboursville Road neighborhood is outlined in green. The families who live here would be very adversely affected by the proposed mine’s heavy dump truck traffic (30 to 54 loads per day, plus return trips of the trucks). This established neighborhood has houses from the nineteenth to late twentieth centuries. The Old Barboursville Road is very narrow. The red outline shows the land General Shale LLC intends to purchase, and the red shading shows their approximate proposed excavation area.
